A JAPANESE ANTIQUE SCROLL KAKEJIKU~SUPERB AND MASTERFUL INK PAINTING
This amazing work of art is executed in a rare sumi-e style. It is a
masterpiece of understatement.Surrounded by an exquisite silk brocade on either
side, Simply beautiful in the Japanese Zen tradition. This work will grace any
spacious setting for a good wabi-sabi Japanese atmosphere.
Observing the masterfully placed brush strokes that form the bamboo stems and
leaves, one can actually feelthe wonderful delicacy of form and texture of a
bamboo grove in a forested shady glen. A one of a kind offering for your
consideration.
The scroll measures: 18.5 inches wide by 80 inches long
The condition is exceptional for a work on paper of this age. There is some
light foxing(spots) visible on the surface. These can be especially seen from
the back but are little noticed from the viewing side of the work.
The scroll comes with a beautiful old signed Kiri (Paulownia wood) box.
